General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: operational information regarding the Russian invasion (as of 06:00 09.01.2023)

To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on January 9, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The three hundred and twentieth day of Russia's large-scale invasion has begun.

Russian occupiers carried out seven missile strikes and thirty-one air raids, as well as seventy-three attacks with multiple rocket launchers during the past day.

There is a threat of enemy air and missile strikes on critical infrastructure across Ukraine's territory.

The enemy is conducting offensive actions on the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Lyman axes and is attempting to improve its tactical position on the Kupyansk axis.

Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of Stepanivka and Chervonopopivka villages in Luhansk Oblast, as well as Solodyar, Krasna Gora, Podgordyne, Bakhmut, Klyshchevka, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, Krasnogorivka, Mariinka, and Victory and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast during the past day.

On the Novopavlivsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson axes, the enemy is defending on previously occupied lines and conducting engineering fortifications of positions.

On the Volyn, Polesie, Sever, and Slobozhansky axes, no signs of forming offensive groupings by the enemy have been detected.

In the Sever and Slobozhansky directions, areas around Galaganyvka and Hreminch villages in Chernihiv Oblast; Korneyok, Kucherivka, Studenok, Bunyakine, Atinske, Kindratyvka, and Myropillya in Sumy Oblast, as well as Starytsia, Chugunivka, Milove, Kolodyazhne, and Novomlynets in Kharkiv Oblast suffered from mortar and artillery shelling.

On the Kupyansk axis, areas around Dvorichevoye, Pereshotravnevyy, Ivanivka, and Krokhmalnyy villages in Kharkiv Oblast and Stepanivka and Myasozharyvka villages in Luhansk Oblast were shelled from tanks and artillery.

On the Lyman axis, Makarivka, Ploschanka, Nevske, Kuzmine, Chervonopopivka, and Dibrova villages in Luhansk Oblast were affected by fire impact.

On the Bakhmut axis, Spirene, Berestevo, Bilohorivka, Veseloye, Rozdolivka, Krasna Gora, Bakhmut, Klyshchevka, White Mountain, Dilievka, Friendship, Zaliznyanka, and New York villages in Donetsk Oblast suffered from enemy fire.

On the Avdiivka axis, Avdiivka, Nevelsko, Georgiyivka, Mariinka, and Novomykhailivka villages in Donetsk Oblast were hit by enemy artillery fire.

On the Zaporizhzhia axis, enemy shelling was recorded near Dorozhnyanka, Charyvne, Bihor, Malishchyky, Stepovyy, and Kamianske villages in Zaporizhzhia Oblast as well as Oleksiyivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

On the Kherson axis, the enemy continues to shell populated areas along the right bank of the Dnipro River. Once again, Kherson was hit by Russian multiple rocket launcher fire.

According to available information, a significant amount of weaponry and military equipment arriving for training personnel of the enemy in Belarus from the Russian Federation has been removed from long-term storage and requires maintenance. It is also known that Belarusian servicemen are involved in work on this equipment.

There is a trend towards worsening the moral-psychological state of the enemy's manpower. For example, among military personnel of the 127th Separate Reconnaissance Brigade stationed in temporarily occupied Sevastopol, there is an increasing thought about ending the war on any terms.

Ukrainian aviation carried out seventeen strikes against areas where occupiers are concentrated and three strikes against enemy air defense positions during the past day.

At the same time, our soldiers shot down three enemy helicopters (Ka-52, Mi-24, and Mi-8) as well as three reconnaissance drones of the "Orlan-10" type.

Ukrainian missile forces and artillery hit seven areas where enemy manpower and military equipment are concentrated, as well as their ammunition depots.

Support Ukraine's Armed Forces! Together we will win! Glory to Ukraine!
