President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the country's need for air and missile defense systems.

"Strong people of an unbreakable country!

Today was a difficult day. The morning brought a new wave of Russian terrorist attacks. Hours were spent clearing rubble and dealing with the aftermath of strikes. Evening saw battles for Ukraine and news for Ukraine.

Another stage of freeing our people from Russian captivity took place — 108 Ukrainian women were returned. Officers, sergeants, privates. Army, Navy, territorial defense, National Guard, border guards. 96 — military servicewomen, including those evacuated from "Azovstal." 12 — civilians.

Among those freed today are some who were captured long before the full-scale war began. We do not forget anyone of ours — we will bring everyone back home. And we will.

Our team working on exchanges continues this work: Budanov, Yermak, Ussov, Maliuk, Lubinec and others.

I thank all those involved in this success, as well as everyone who replenishes our exchange fund, ensuring the capture of enemy soldiers.

The more Russian captives we have, the faster we can free our heroes. This must be remembered by every Ukrainian soldier and commander on the front lines.

Throughout the day, debris is being cleared in places where Russian terrorists managed to hit today.

In Kyiv, they killed a young family, hitting an apartment building with an Iranian "Shahid." A boy and a pregnant girl at six months... Vladimir Putin can add another "achievement" — killing yet another pregnant woman.

Overall, four people were killed by this single "Shahid." There were other strikes as well. Over 25 populated areas of our country came under attack during the night and early morning.

Eternal memory to all victims of Russian terror!

Right now, a new wave of Russian drone attacks is taking place — there are interceptions.

The world can and must stop this terrorism. When we talk about Ukraine's need for air defense and missile defense systems, we speak about real lives that terrorists take. We manage to shoot down some missiles and drones. Just in the 12 hours from Sunday evening, it was possible to destroy 37 Iranian "Shahids" and several cruise missiles.

But to guarantee protection of our skies and eliminate Russian terrorist capabilities entirely, we need significantly more modern air defense systems and more ammunition for such systems.

And this is not just a Ukrainian interest. The fewer terroristic opportunities Russia has, the sooner this war will end.

Russia has no chance on the battlefield. And it tries to use terrorism to cover its military defeats. Why does it need terrorism? To pressure — pressure us, Europe, and the entire world.

Terrorists must be neutralized. This rule applies equally everywhere, including Russian terror.

When Russian capabilities for terrorism are neutralized by our joint efforts with partners, Russia will have no other option but to think about peace.

And I thank all of our air force fighters, anti-aircraft personnel, and other soldiers involved in countering Russian attacks! Every shot down Russian missile and every destroyed drone — this saves lives.

I also thank everyone involved in dealing with the aftermath of terrorist strikes: our rescuers, police officers, doctors, energy workers, municipal officials, local government representatives, public servants, and business representatives who help.

Today's Russian missile and drone attacks have also caused new power outages, but this is being fixed. Restoration work continues. This form of terrorism will not give Russia anything even now when we do not yet have enough air defense and missile defense systems.

But for this our unity must remain maximum. Please heed the requests of energy workers and consciously consume electricity during peak load hours on the power system. This will allow the entire country to go through this period more stably.

Please help local communities deal with the aftermath of terrorist attacks if your business has such an opportunity. Take care, please, of those acquaintances and neighbors who are alone and need attention or assistance, especially elderly people. And definitely thank those involved in defending our country and dealing with the aftermath of terrorist strikes, supporting normal life despite any attempts by Russia to disrupt it.

Our unity with you, our attention to each other, our ability to fight and work together for common interests — this is a guarantee of Ukraine's victory and the defeat of terrorists. There is no weapon in Iran or anywhere else that can break a people who are aware of what they are fighting for and will never forgive their enemy.

I spoke today with the President of the United Arab Emirates. I thanked him for supporting Ukraine, especially at the UN and other international organizations.

We discussed in detail the threat created by Russia to global food security. I assured Mr. President that Ukraine will remain a guarantor of food security, and thus social stability, for all our partners.

We are preparing for important negotiations scheduled this week and next about further defense and financial support for our country.

We will do everything to ensure Ukraine's victory.
