Euro 2022 (U-19) in futsal. The Ukrainian youth national team defeated Romania and advanced to the semifinals
The Euro-2022 (U-19) futsal tournament is underway in the Spanish city of Huelva. The Ukrainian youth national team continued its participation in the final stage with a match against Romania.

In the first round, Vitaliy Odegov's wards secured a bright and decisive victory over Croatia (6:4), while in another group A match, the hosts from Spain scored nine goals against Romania. Now it is time for the blue-and-yellow team to test the strength of their geographical neighbors.

In the first half, Ukrainians had a significant advantage in play, hitting the crossbar twice. However, only Semenchuk managed to score on the 9th minute with a long-range shot. Before halftime, Romania missed several dangerous opportunities.
Immediately after halftime, Chog equalized the score, but our boys scored again at the 25-minute mark. Britan delivered a corner kick, and Kvasniy broke through the goalkeeper with an airborne shot. Yaroslav could have completed his brace right away, but Romania's defense came to their rescue.

However, on the 29th minute, Kvasniy scored again, sending the ball into an empty net after a five-meter shot. The Ukrainians then increased their lead as Dychuk delivered a perfect shot to the top corner. Later, Lutai also scored for Ukraine. Before the end of the match, our boys hit the crossbar several times, while Romania managed to score one goal. In summary, Vitaliy Odegov's wards won with a 5:2 score.
The Ukrainians advanced to the semifinals and will face the hosts in the final group stage match on September 7th.
