To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on August 17, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The one hundred seventy-fifth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian nation against the Russian large-scale invasion has begun.

On the Volyn and Polesie Directions there have been no significant changes. From the territory of Belarus, a Russian Su-34 aircraft carried out an airstrike on infrastructure objects in the territory of the Zhytomyr region. There remains a threat of further missile and aviation strikes from the territory of Belarus.

On the Northern Direction the enemy continues to shell border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions with field artillery.

On the Kharkiv Direction the enemy, in order to correct artillery fire and determine the positions of units of the Territorial Defense Forces, continues to actively conduct reconnaissance using UAVs. Carried out shelling of military and civilian infrastructure in the areas of Kharkiv, Pyrovyk, Demenky, and another 18 populated places.

Conducted airstrikes near Staro-Saltovo and Mosypanove. Conducting an advance near Lebyazhye and Bazaliyevka, fighting continues. Occupants are bypassing the area remotely — this time near Lebyazhye.

On the Sloviansk Direction the enemy carried out fire strikes with tanks, field artillery, and rocket artillery in the areas of populated places Brakhivka, Velyka Komishuvaha, Dybryvne, Virnopillya, and Mazanivka. Conducted remote mine-laying near Dolgenkoye. In the area of Bogorodichno attempted to conduct an offensive battle but was unsuccessful and withdrew. Fighting continues near Mazanivka and Novodmytrivka.

On the Donetsk Direction occupiers continue to concentrate efforts on the Bakhmut and Novopavlovsk Directions. On the Kramatorsk and Avdiyiv directions, the enemy is trying to improve the tactical situation of their troops.

On the Kramatorsk Direction artillery strikes were recorded near Mykolayivka, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Sporny, Verkhnyokamyanskyi, Ivan-Daryvka, Hryhorivka, and Zvanivka. The enemy conducted aerial reconnaissance in the area of Kramatorsk. Near Sporny, occupiers decided to advance but suffered losses and withdrew.

On the Bakhmut Direction the enemy shelled the areas of Bakhmut, Sverdlovsk, Zaitsevo, Bilohorivka, and Mayorovka. Conducted airstrikes on civilian infrastructure near Sverdlovsk. Carried out offensive and storming actions near Zalizne, Shumy, and Zaitsevo but was unsuccessful and withdrew. Fighting continues in the areas of Sverdlovsk and Bakhmut.

On the Avdiivka Direction with tanks and artillery of various types shelled territories near Avdiivka, Mariinka, New York, Oleksandropol, Pisky, Vodyanyi, Opytnoye, and Nevelsky.

The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Mariinka, Krasnogorovka, and Yasynuvata. Conducted aerial reconnaissance with UAVs near Krasnogorovka and Opytnoye. Attempting to conduct storming actions in the area of Opytnoye, fighting continues.

On the Novopavlovsk and Zaporizhzhia Directions the enemy carried out shelling with field artillery, rocket artillery, and tanks in the areas of populated places Velyka Novosilka, Novosilka, Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Bogoyavlenskaya, Sonchivka, Stebnogirsk, Shevchenko, Ugledar, Burlytske, Charivne, Zaliznychne, Hulyaypole, Hulyaypilskyi, Novodanilyvka, Lukyanyvskyi, Orikhiv, Vremivka, Poltavka, Novopil, and Novoandriyivka.

The enemy carried out airstrikes near Volodymyrivka, Novosilka, and Shcherbak. Conducted offensive battles in the area of populated place Shevchenkove but received a harsh counterattack and withdrew. Fighting continues near Novomykhailivka.

Occupants are replacing positions in the areas of Engineering and Ukrainian.

On the South Buzhok Direction main efforts of the enemy are focused on holding occupied positions, preventing our troops from advancing, and fire strikes against units of the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The enemy is using measures to replenish losses. Carried out shelling with field artillery, rocket artillery, and tanks in the areas of Mykolaiv, Stepova Dolina, and another 27 populated places.

Occupants carried out aviation strikes and conducted offensive battles near Bilyhorodka. Ukrainian warriors effectively broke up rows of Russian invaders and forced the enemy to flee. The enemy continues conducting reconnaissance using unmanned aerial vehicles.
