The head coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach, Adi Hütter, spoke about the upcoming friendly match against Ukraine's national team. The club's official website reported.

"When we received an invitation from the Ukrainian Football Association, we immediately agreed because we wanted to support their national team, which is currently preparing for the playoff against Scotland in the qualification for the 2022 World Cup. This will be Ukraine's first match since the start of the war. So, we are proud that we can host this encounter in today's situation."

"But sports support is only one side of the coin. The other side is that we will donate the proceeds from this game to the people of Ukraine. By playing this match, we send a significant solidarity signal to them. Therefore, I think it’s great that our club is organizing this match."

"We want to show good football and be worthy opponents for Ukraine's national team. Since we still have several injured players, we will approach the game by slightly changing the lineup and fielding two strong teams in each half. We can use the match against Ukraine to try out different combinations and give some playing time to those who haven't had much recently," said Adi Hütter.

The friendly match between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Ukraine's national team will take place today at Borussia Park (kickoff at 21:45 Kyiv time).
