An educational and training process is underway at the international football camp in Coverciano (Italy) with the participation of young Ukrainian football players. Every day, the players engage in two-hour sessions under the guidance of Italian coaches and experts.

Camp Participants

The trip took place within the framework of cooperation between the Ukrainian Football Association and the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Representing Ukraine in Coverciano are three teams: the winner of all-Ukrainian competitions "School Ball" — Ternopil Specialized School No. 3, the finalist from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast — Ivano-Frankivsk Lyceum No. 10, and a girls' team from Poltava's Voroshylova, finalists of the Ukrainian U13 Championship.

Each training session is aimed at the comprehensive development of young athletes: improving technical skills, developing decision-making abilities on the field, and deepening their understanding of the game. The program includes contemporary exercises and tactical approaches used in leading football academies across Europe.

Coaching Staff of the Project

Over the past few days, training with Ukrainian football players has been conducted by five Italian experts:

  • Alfonso Muccia — coach of FC Siena (UEFA B category);
  • Ruggero Radice — technical instructor of AIAC and Technical Sector of FIGC;
  • Marcello Manchin — president of AIAC Solidale ETS;
  • Roberto Baron — federal coach and instructor (UEFA A category);
  • Daniele Bortolotti.

Valuable Experience for Ukrainian Coaches

Participation in the project is important not only for players but also for Ukrainian coaches who accompany the teams. Working alongside Italian colleagues provides them with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with new methods of preparation and implement acquired knowledge into training processes in Ukraine.

Thank You to Partners

The Ukrainian Football Association expresses sincere gratitude to the Italian Association of Football Coaches (AIAC) and organization AIAC Solidale ETS for their hospitality, willingness to share professional knowledge and experience, as well as significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian-Italian football cooperation.
