On Friday, October 2nd, the Ukraine national team will play a home match in the third round of UEFA Nations League against Northern Ireland. The game will take place at Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Trnava, Slovakia, starting at 9:45 PM Kyiv time.

Technically, this is a home game, but for several years now "home" for our team has meant playing on foreign fields hundreds of kilometers away from their hometowns. Players step onto the field knowing that most of those who support them are back in Ukraine: in Kyiv and Kharkiv, Lviv and Odessa, at the front lines and behind them. The stands in Trnava cannot hold all of the country, so we decided to bring Ukraine's support closer to the team.

For this purpose, the UAF launched a special page where anyone can write the team a personal letter. A few words of support, wishes for the game, thanks or stories about how you watch matches of the national team — all of this is important. You can attach a photo or short video to your message: with family in front of the TV, with friends wearing national team jerseys, with fellow soldiers or with children who are supporting Ukraine for the first time.

We will collect your letters and read them to the team on the stadium before the match. Players will hear that they are supported not only by those who come to the stands but also by millions of people at home, for whom every appearance of the national team is an opportunity to unite.

The match against Northern Ireland is extremely important for the tournament prospects of our team in the Nations League. In such games, not only tactics and physical readiness but also character decide the outcome. And character is best expressed by the words of those for whom the team plays.

Writing a letter is simple. Download the UAF Digital app from the App Store or Google Play, find the banner "Send Words of Support," or a notification from the app, open the page, write a few sentences in the letter field, add a photo or video if you wish, sign it and click "Submit." Letters are accepted until the start whistle, so don't delay: the more voices heard before the match, the stronger the team will feel that behind them stands the whole country.
