Transcript of a press conference with Ukraine's Viktor Tsygankov ahead of the match against Hungary in the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League 2026/2027.

— At the end of the last match against Hungary, there were a lot of emotions. Did you get extra motivation after that? How are you preparing for this game?

— What can I say. The events at the end of the game are part of football. Every match is different. And we prepare with the same passion and belief that we will win tomorrow and make our fans happy.

— How do you feel being here in Trnava?

— Of course, we cannot play at home here. And this is a big disadvantage for us because we want to see all our fans, feel their support and warmth. We want to perform as well as possible for them. So that they write after the final whistle that we are fighting for our country, like our soldiers fight on the front line. What we can do is come out for every game and try to win, show the football they want to see. And of course, demonstrate our attitude in every match — what we are fighting for and who we are fighting for.

— For you, which international window is better — as it was in the past with two or three matches at most, or this new one with four matches?

— It doesn't depend on me or the boys. Playing for your national team is always a privilege. And I came to this camp with great pleasure, wanting to perform as well as possible and seeing everyone. We don't choose anything, we just have to come out and show our maximum at every training session, in every game. And be focused because all of this is for our people. In such difficult times, we simply want them to have a happy moment, to cheer for their country.

— Regarding the physical preparation of the team and yours in particular. In the first match you ran 12.4 kilometers, in the second came on as a substitute, in the third more than 12 kilometers again. How do you feel and are you ready to play a full game tomorrow?

— Of course, the schedule is tight. I'll repeat, we don't choose anything. If there's a game, we have to come out and show our maximum. There may still be some fatigue today, but I'm sure it will pass tomorrow, and everyone will be ready to come out again and do their best, run as much as needed for Ukraine to be in the best places.
