Twelve teams, composed of participants of military operations, veterans, servicemen, state institution employees, and representatives of law enforcement agencies, took part in the competitions.

Before the start of the tournament, honored guests addressed the participants: Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Ruslan Prykhodko, Deputy Head of Kyiv City Center "Invasport" Vadym Hutsaliuk, and Manager of the Amateur and Mass Football Department of the Ukrainian Football Association Mariian Yaskevych.

"Now we are building together with the UAF, under its President Andriy Shevchenko, a whole system for veterans. The 'League of Greats' is already operating and has received UEFA recognition. We are also working on organizing a full-fledged championship among veterans where each of you can find your place after returning to civilian life," noted Ruslan Prykhodko.

"We are glad to welcome everyone on our fields and always support the military, and this cooperation has been ongoing since the beginning of the full-scale war. This gives military personnel an opportunity for psychological relief and rehabilitation through football," noted Mariian Yaskevych.

The twelve participating teams were divided into three groups of four each. Based on the group stage results, the winners of the groups who secured first places advanced to the semifinals, as well as the best team among those that finished second in their quartets.
