On Wednesday, December 10th, the draw for the first qualifying round of Euro-2027 among players under 17 will take place, with Ukraine's youth team participating (currently it is U-16, players born in or after 2010). The ceremony starts at 11:15 AM Kyiv time.

Before the draw for the first qualifying round of Euro-2027 (U-17), Vladimir Samorukov's wards, according to UEFA rankings, fell into the third pot.

In this round, 54 teams will be divided into 12 groups of four teams each and two groups of three teams. Mini-tournaments will take place from July 1 to November 17, 2026. The 14 group winners and the 14 second-placed teams qualify for the second round of League A. The remaining 26 teams will participate in the second round of League B.

The second qualifying round in spring 2027 will determine seven teams that join the host, Latvia, at the Euro-2027 (U-17) final stage and also form a UEFA zone team for the World Cup-2027 (U-17) in Qatar. The Latvian team will also participate in the qualification process, although it is guaranteed a place in the finals.
