Vladimir Muntyan has left this life...

On the first day of winter, at the age of 80 and after a long illness, Vladimir Fedorovich Muntian passed away — a prominent footballer for Kyiv's "Dynamo" and the SSR national team, as well as an authoritative coach.

He was the best player in the USSR in 1969, seven-time champion of the country, twice winner of the USSR Cup, winner of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and Super Cup, participant of the 1970 World Cup, vice-champion of Europe in 1972, and vice-president of the Ukrainian Football Veterans Association.

The legendary defensive midfielder, a man devoted infinitely to his cause, beloved by millions of fans, is no longer with us. His brilliant play is still remembered today.

Vladimir Muntian has long entered the pantheon of football fame — as one of the most outstanding players of his era, as a coach, and as a football official. Particularly significant is his contribution to the development of veterans' movement: for over 20 years he worked in leadership positions at the Ukrainian Football Veterans Association, supporting and uniting generations who glorified Ukrainian football.

The UAF expresses sincere condolences to Vladimir Fedorovich's relatives and loved ones and shares their grief. Eternal memory...
