At the beginning of June, the women's national team of Ukraine won their group at the Nations League and for the first time in history qualified for the A League. Now the team awaits an interesting rehearsal — a match against Poland, which is preparing for its historic Euro.

The Ukrainian national team began preparations on June 21 in Poland, where they held a short training camp. Head coach Volodymyr Pyatenko emphasized that the main goal of this gathering was to review new candidates. Specifically, five debutantes were invited to the camp: Iryna Slavych, Victoria Radionova, Tanya Boychuk, Lidia Zaborovets, Oleksandra Krevska.

“For Poland, the friendly match in Mielec will be a general rehearsal before traveling to Switzerland for Euro-2025. I am convinced that this sparring will be beneficial for both national teams. The hosts will have their last chance to check the effectiveness of their home preparations, while we — to find out what the newcomers are worth against a strong opponent”, — said head coach of Ukraine's women's national team Volodymyr Pyatenko.

The women's national team of Poland is preparing for their debut appearance at Euro-2025, which will take place from July 2 to July 27 in Switzerland. In the group stage, Poland will compete against teams from Germany, Sweden, and Denmark. The team is led by 39-year-old coach Nina Patalon, who replaced Milos Stepaniski in March 2021 and became the first woman to lead Poland's women's national team.

In the updated ranking of national women's teams published by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), Ukraine holds 35th place (1633.46 points) and Poland — 27th (1705.75 points).
