In their second Euro-2025 (U-21) match, Ukraine's youth team defeated Finland (2:0). After the game, striker of the blue-and-yellow squad Vladyslav Vanat, who was named man of the match, spoke to the press.

"The impression from the match is positive because we won and got closer to our goal — advancing out of the group. It wasn't easy for me to score as there were many defenders around. Oleg Ocheretko made a pass, I broke through, looked up, saw how the goalkeeper reacted, and with a second shot scored.

This goal was very important for me because as the oldest player in the team who has played for the national squad at a European championship, I was under some pressure. But I scored and am very happy about it.

I believe we have good chances to advance out of the group. Our next match is against the Netherlands, and although they are a very strong team, we can certainly win and move on to the next stage of the tournament.

We had great support from the stands as Kosice is close to Ukraine. We are grateful to all our fans for their support.

Regarding Brazyk's red card, situations happen differently. I also had a case where there was a direct red card and disqualification for two matches. He got two yellow cards, so he will be suspended for one game. We talked about this after the match, but what advice can I give him? He is already 23 years old and should understand the situation himself.

As for comparisons with other competitions, it seems to me that at the national team level, defenders are more high-class. But if you take Denmark's squad, their defenders are also very good. It was difficult to play against them, and I think they could play in top Ukrainian teams,"— said Vladyslav Vanat.
