The head coach of Ukraine's U-20 national team (players born in 2005 or later) Dmitry Mykhaylenko has summed up the training camp in Spain.

The Ukrainian youth team, which qualified for the World Cup 2025 (U-20) after winning the final stage of Euro 2024 (U-19), concluded their last training session before the tournament. The World Cup will take place from September 27 to October 19 in five cities in Chile: Valparaíso, Santiago, Viña del Mar, Rancagua, and Talca.

After this camp, the head coach of Ukraine's team Dmitry Mykhaylenko summed up the training session by answering questions from the official website of the UAF.

— Mr. Dmitry, how did the work in Spain go?

— Everything went well. Thanks to the leadership of the UAF, we had good conditions and the players worked in a great mood. As I said before the camp, we continue building the game that we want to see in the national team. We expected to see different interactions on the field. So far everything is going according to plan.

— Were there any player losses?

— Unfortunately, forward Vladyslav Herich was injured in the first match against "Murcia" and could not finish the training camp.

— By the way, initially Ukraine's team planned to play against Morocco's under-20s...

— That match did not take place. We had to quickly find an opponent. It turned out to be Spanish "Murcia" U-21, whom we defeated with a score of 2:0.

The second game was more informative. The USA's U-19 team, which we played against and drew — 1:1 — is an organized team with fast attackers in the attack. I think that seven or eight players from this team will go to the World Cup in Chile. We were very satisfied with this friendly match.

— The next training session will be right before the World Cup?

— Yes. We plan to arrive in Chile five or six days before the start of the tournament, so we can play a friendly match which is very important for us.

Let's remind you that 24 teams from six confederations will participate in the World Cup 2025 (U-20). They will compete in six groups. The top two teams from each group, as well as four of the six third-placed teams, will advance to the round of 16. Then it's the usual format.
