On June 6, the Ukrainian youth team played against their Spanish counterparts at the Santo Domingo Stadium in Alcorcón and defeated them with a score of 1-0. The match was commented on by players from the blue-and-yellow team: Georgiy Yermakov, Volodymyr Brazyko, Illia Kvasnitsya, and Konstantin Vycharenko.

Georgiy Yermakov (goalkeeper): "The coach said in the locker room that he is proud of us not only for the victory but also for the quality of our play. We understand that this win is just part of our preparation for Euro. We need to clearly envision what our next step will be."

Volodymyr Brazyko (halfback): "We worked hard for this victory. In the locker room, I told the boys that I believe in them and in our team. If we do everything carefully and stick together, as well as remember what we've trained over the past week... It turned out just like that. We played a good defensive game, almost not giving the opponent any chances to create opportunities near our goal, while also putting up a decent match ourselves. There were still two or three episodes where we could have scored."

Illia Kvasnitsya (halfback): "I didn't even expect such a result, let alone that I would be able to score. There was a good pass and I found myself in the right place at the right time. After the match, the boys said I'm very lucky. I think everything will go well for us at Euro."

Konstantin Vycharenko (defender): "We prepared well for this game; the coaches pushed us a bit. We demonstrated good play and understanding on the field. I hope we can carry all of this into Euro. I believe we are ready for this tournament."

On June 12, under the leadership of Unai Melgosa, Ukraine's youth team will play their first match in the final stage of Euro-2025 (U-21) in Slovakia against Denmark. They will also face Finland on June 15 and the Netherlands on June 18.
