The costly home draw against «Vilkhyvtsy» in February was detrimental to the footballers of «Skala 1911». These lost points were crucial in their match against «Ruh 2» for second place in Group A, which still left them with a chance to advance.
Although the Skalians took the upper hand over «Ruh 2» in the second round and broke «Probiv»’s winning streak in the 16th match, it must be noted that the Gorodenka team did not field their full-strength lineup yesterday, notably without their injured striker, Bohdan Orinchak. Nevertheless, the footballers of «Skala 1911» were more motivated and secured a convincing victory — 4:2. The visitors were saved from defeat by Vasyl Palagnyuk, who scored twice in the dying moments of the match.
And today, the winner of Group B was determined prematurely: «Kolos-2» is expected to have defeated «Metalist 1925-2» (5:2) and can now calmly prepare for the final playoff matches against «Probiv».
