The head coach of the Ukraine U-16 national team (players born in 2009 or later) Oleksandr Sitnik has announced the names of the players who will participate in the UEFA Development Tournament in May.
The tournament will take place from May 4 to 9 in the Finnish town of Eerikilä, where our boys will play against their counterparts from Greece, Finland, and Hungary. The coach has called up 22 players for the tournament.

Recall that on December 5 in Nyon, Switzerland, the draw for the first round of qualification for Euro-2026 (U-17) took place. As a result of this draw, the Ukraine U-17 national team ended up in Group 1, where it will face Italy, Montenegro, and Estonia. The host of the mini-tournament will be Estonia.

54 teams were divided into 12 groups of four participants each and two groups of three participants. The host of the final tournament, Estonia's national team, will also participate in the qualification round.
Based on the results of the first qualifying round, 14 group winners and 14 teams that finish second will advance to the second round of Group A. The remaining 26 teams will take part in the second round of Group B.
Teams advancing to the second round of qualification in Group A will compete for seven spots at Euro-2026 (U-17) finals in spring 2026. As the host, Estonia received an automatic bye. It is worth noting that this qualifying round also serves as a qualifier for the CHS-2026 (U-17) tournament in Qatar.
In addition, teams from both leagues of the second qualification round will compete for promotion and relegation between leagues before the first round of Euro-2028 (U-19) qualification.
