Today, March 24, the U-16 national team of Ukraine (players born in or after 2009) will play against Montenegro at the Four Nations Tournament in Romania.

After an initial loss to Poland (0:1), the blue and yellow team defeated Romania (4:2). Today, Ukraine will play their final match against Montenegro (3:00 PM).

54 teams were divided into 12 groups of four participants and two groups of three participants. The host country for the final tournament, Estonia's national team, will also participate in the qualification process.

The winners of each group and the second-placed teams from the first round of qualification will advance to the second round of Group A of the UEFA League. The remaining 26 teams will compete in the second round of Group B.

Teams advancing to the second round of qualification in Group A will compete for seven spots at Euro-2026 (U-17) in spring 2026. As the host country, Estonia automatically received a bye into the final tournament. It is worth noting that this qualifying round also serves as the first round of qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

Furthermore, teams from both leagues will compete to move up and down between leagues before the first round of Euro-2028 (U-19) qualification.
