Second place at the tournament in El Salvador added points to Ukraine's beach soccer national team in the world ranking

Oleg Prymachuk, the executive director of the Ukrainian Beach Football Association, commented on our national team's performance at the international El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup 2025. Reminder: The Ukrainians secured second place in the competition, trailing only Portugal.

Oleksandr Prymachuk, the executive director of the Ukrainian Beach Soccer Association, commented on our national team's performance at the El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup 2025 international tournament.  

As a reminder, Ukrainians secured second place in the competition, only behind Portugal. The blue-and-yellow team lost to El Salvador (4:4, on penalties — 1:3) and Portugal (4:5), but won their final match against Venezuela (3:2). 

The tournament results were summarized by the executive director of APFU, Oleksandr Prymachuk, according to the official website of the organization. 

"Preparation for Euroleague-2025 includes both training sessions and friendly matches as well as participation in international tournaments. As is known, the World Beach Soccer Organization (BSWW) oversees beach soccer competitions around the world with a license from FIFA to organize all international tournaments."

Participation in BSWW competitions earns each country ranking points. At the end of the year, these points are added up and determine the ranking of each national team. Consequently, the final rating for each country is influenced not only by the number of tournaments in which a team participates but also by its overall finish position. The most prestigious tournament is considered to be the World Beach Soccer Championship.

Given that for several years in a row, the men's national team has refused to participate in World Championships due to Russia's full-scale invasion and the inclusion of Belarusian teams in competitions, our team's ranking dropped from 12th to 20th place. Therefore, any participation in international tournaments under the auspices of BSWW, which earn points, is not only desirable but also necessary.
 
Thus, when the Football Federation of El Salvador invited us with a letter to participate in the EL Salvador Beach Soccer Cup 2025 tournament, coaches gladly accepted this proposal and made changes to their preparation plan. And as we see, it was not in vain. Since the team secured second place, which added ranking points.
 
And going forward, the leadership will continue to consider all proposals for participation in international tournaments aimed at strengthening our national team's position on the world stage," — said Oleksandr Prymachuk.
