The Women’s Winter Cup 2025 has become a platform for the development of women's amputee football
The 10th Women's Winter Cup 2025 became a significant return of the women's football winter tournament and an important event for the development of women's amputee football in Ukraine. Within the framework of the tournament, a training camp was organized for the national women's amputee football team.

Within the tournament, a training camp was organized for the national women's wheelchair football team. This provided players with new skills, prepared them for future international competitions, and refined their game.

Over several days, the girls engaged in intensive training sessions, theoretical lessons, and informal meetings. The climax was a friendly match between mixed squads of women's wheelchair football teams and women's football teams. Players from the national women’s football team took to the field in what is called "walking football" format to level the playing field. This match symbolized equality, support, and unity within the sports community.

"This is the first match in history between a women's wheelchair football team and players of the national team. We are starting a wonderful tradition that, I am sure, will become annual. This is an important example of support and equality, showing that sports are for everyone," — noted Anastasia Klipchanko, head of the Women’s and Girls’ Football Committee at the UAF.

Manager of the social project "League of Giants" at UAF, Bohdan Melnyk emphasized the significance of the event: "This is not just a meeting. This is unity, an opportunity for girls in wheelchair football to feel support, make friends, and for society as a whole to see that football is open to everyone. We want to motivate as many people as possible to join sports, enjoy it, and gain confidence."

Women's Winter Cup 2025 once again proved that football is not just a game, but also a powerful tool for unity, equality, and inspiration. It is not only a competition but also a platform for the development of women’s football in all its forms. The Ukrainian Football Association continues to support initiatives that make football open and accessible to everyone.
