This week marked the start of an internship program for Ukrainian coaches within the system of one of the world’s most successful clubs, Manchester City.
This opportunity was made possible through the collaboration between the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) and the English club, officially established during the summer.
As part of the program, 20 selected Ukrainian coaches have been engaged in theoretical and practical training at Manchester City's facilities, including the training grounds used by the club's first team.
Throughout the week, these coaches will immerse themselves in Manchester City's modern football philosophy, study the training methodologies of the club's academy, and visit the training centers of both youth teams and the senior squad.

The program was open to Ukrainian coaches via a competitive selection process. Applicants were required to hold UEFA C, B, or A coaching licenses, have experience working with youth teams, and demonstrate the ability to implement innovative training practices in Ukraine.
The memorandum of cooperation between UAF and Manchester City not only enables these internships but also ensures ongoing mentorship for Ukrainian coaches. This initiative aims to introduce world-class best practices into youth football in Ukraine.

“We strive for Ukrainian coaches to learn from the best in the world. This internship is a crucial step in preparing professionals who can nurture our young footballers and help them reach the international level,” said UAF President Andriy Shevchenko.
This program is part of UAF’s broader strategy to develop young players through modern methodologies. Such collaborations will empower Ukrainian coaches to become catalysts for progress, driving the nation’s football to new heights.
