In the first period, the Blue and Yellows took the lead thanks to a precise strike by Iryna Bavzenyuk. In the second 12-minute period, Iryna doubled Ukraine's advantage by scoring her second goal.

The start of the final period was explosive for Ukraine. Within two minutes, two more goals were scored by Margaryta Yurasova and Yuliya Kostyuk. Only after that did the Swiss team gain some momentum and narrow the gap. Both teams exchanged goals later, with Iryna Bavzenyuk completing her hat-trick. The match ended in a 5:3 victory for Ukraine.

As a result, Yuriy Klymenko’s team advanced to the consolation final and will compete for 5th place. The next match for Ukraine's women’s team will be on September 15, with their opponent determined after the Czechia vs. England match.
