A major change this season is the shift from the traditional group stage to a single league stage involving all participating teams. Each club will now play a minimum of eight matches against eight different opponents (four home and four away) instead of the previous six matches against three teams, with both home and away games. The top eight teams will automatically advance to the knockout rounds, while teams finishing 9th to 24th will compete in two-legged ties for places in the Round of 16. Teams finishing 25th to 36th will be eliminated from European competition.

The first round of the league stage will kick off on September 17.
