"Open Football Lessons" visited the village of Borschivchi, which is in Lviv Oblast

The Lviv Football Association continues to implement the traditional nationwide social and sports project "Open Football Lessons" with the support of UEFA under the auspices of the Ukrainian Football Association.

This week, this large-scale event took place in the village of Borchovychi, Novoyarychiv territorial community. It was attended by nearly eighty children from nine general education schools: Novy Yarychev, Zapitov, Borchovych, Velikosilky, Rudanets, Neslukhov, Dydilov, Pikulovich, Banynin, as well as children with special educational needs.

At the opening of the event were present First Deputy Head and Executive Director of the Lviv Football Association, project coordinator in Lviv region Stepan Ponaide, Deputy Head of the Lviv Football Association Andriy Smolyskyi, head of Novoyarychiv territorial community Petro Sokolovskyy, head of the education department of Novoyarychiv territorial community Nataliya Mylyanik, director of the village cultural center in Novy Yarychev Kateryna Krymnyt, local project coordinator Andriy Zadorozhnyi, who wished participants a good mood.

Indeed, children on fresh air received a great charge of positive energy, alertness and strengthened their health during classes in special thematic squares, starting with an energetic warm-up. There they worked with experienced coaches and volunteers Andriy Zadorozhnyi, Anastasiya Khmelovska, Nazar Hryshko, Tetiana Povoroznyk, Roman Kozacevych, Kyrylo Kovalev, Mar'yan Chernek, Zahar Rudanetskyi, Andriy Haschuk, Artur Kozachok, Bohdan Kushnir and Maxim Lushchak.

Children learned about important and useful things in the safety square, where they were taught rules of safe behavior during wartime in a traditionally interesting, educational game format by State Emergency Service workers Oleg Tarnavskyi, Volodymyr Kovalev, Vitalii Nazarkovich and Myroslav Davyd.

All participants received sports equipment, commemorative medals and t-shirts from the Ukrainian Football Association.

The project of the Ukrainian Football Association and regional football associations "Open Football Lessons" with the support of UEFA is:

  • psychosocial support for children of ZSU military personnel, IDPs, and war-affected children;
  • unity and friendship between IDP children and local children, social integration;
  • inclusive environment, participants regardless of ability level, gender, as well as the participation of children with special educational needs;
  • safety knowledge in wartime conditions;
  • philosophy of mass football - joy from playing rather than results at any cost;
  • nurturing a healthy lifestyle;
  • volunteer development;
  • local community activation through intersectoral networks (teachers, coaches, psychologists, safety experts, parents, youth leaders, local authorities, patrons etc.).

All project events are held in regions with the approval of regional military administrations.
