The first match of Ukraine's national team at Euro 2024 against Romania, which will take place today in Munich at the "Arena Munich" (kickoff at 16:00 Kyiv time), will be their seventh encounter in history.

Interestingly, there has never been a draw between these neighbors: each side has won three times, although one of Ukraine's victories came via a penalty shootout on an international tournament in Cyprus in February 2011.

Two current players of the blue-and-yellow team can boast goals against Romania — Andriy Yarmolenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko. For the latter, that goal was his debut for the national team. Besides this pair, tricolor players who have scored for the national squad include Serhiy Sydorchuk, Oleksandr Alikievich, Yevhen Konoplyanka, Yaroslav Rakitskiy, Artem Milevsky, and Roman Zozulya. Additionally, a goal was scored in their own net by the famous Romanian defender Cristian Chivu.
