President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about a strategically important vote in the United States and further institutional recharging of our state.

A brief report for today.

First – the front, particularly Avdiivka, Kupiansk, Lyman. Maximum attention and support.

Head of Staff General Sirskyi and Minister of Defense Umeyor are on site at the frontline today, all day long. They visited all hot spots along the front line today. Provided updates on the situation. Resolving existing issues – unit staffing, reinforcement, management. There will be reinforcements with drones, REB, command positions will also be reinforced. A detailed report will follow later.

Second – a strategically important vote took place in the United States today. The Senate voted on additional support for our country, our soldiers, our efforts, and democracy overall. I am grateful to every senator for their morally strong choice. Such a choice is not only significant for Ukraine but also for all nations whose independence is targeted by Russian strikes – whether currently or planned for the near future. Putin never wanted to limit himself to just one Ukraine – his goals are much broader. And solidarity in defense needs to be even wider. The next step – voting in the House of Representatives. This is extremely, extremely important. We expect a morally strong decision that will work. It will work for collective security.

Third – institutional recharging of our state continues. Particularly, the Armed Forces. And today – diplomatic forces as well. Lieutenant General Yevhen Moysyuk has been appointed as a special envoy and will be responsible for implementing international security guarantees for Ukraine and developing the Armed Forces. We are creating a fundamentally new system of security relations for Ukraine with leading world powers, and each element of these relations must be fully realized. There should be no declarative statements. A security agreement with Great Britain already exists, we are preparing new agreements – ambitious ones. Not just with European forces. Every arrangement with partners needs to be implemented as soon as possible.

And one more thing.

We continue to prepare for the Global Peace Summit. Regarding key security aspects violated by the Russian war. Peace must always be non-negotiable and just – exactly what our people and any nation in the world deserve. The aggressor should never win. And I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine, our soldiers, all of our people.
