Olympics-2024: Two more potential rivals for Ukraine's football team have been determined
The 11th and 12th participants in the men's national team football tournament at the 2024 Olympics are the teams of Argentina and Paraguay, which secured second and first places respectively at the final stage of the South American qualification matches. Four more teams that will receive licenses for the summer games will be determined later.

As a reminder, by defeating France (3:1) in the Euro-2023 (U-21) quarter-final and advancing to the semi-finals, Ukraine's youth national team achieved an historic success — securing our country's right to participate for the first time in a football tournament at the Olympics. Along with Ukraine, Spain and Israel also earned licenses for the 2024 Summer Games through the Euro-2023.
Thus, as of today, 12 participants in the men's football tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games are already known. They will compete from July 24 to August 9 in seven cities across France: Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Saint-Étienne, Nice, and Nantes. According to the regulations, players born after January 1, 2001 can participate in the games. Additionally, each team may include up to three players who are older than this age.
In total, 16 national teams will take part in the tournament: France — as hosts, three teams representing Europe (Ukraine, Spain, Israel), three — Africa (Morocco, Egypt, Mali), three — Asia (to be known in March 2024), two — South America (Paraguay, Argentina), two — CONCACAF zone (USA, Dominican Republic), one — Oceania (New Zealand), and also the winner of a playoff match between fourth-placed teams from Africa (Guinea) and Asia.
The format of the Olympic tournament is traditional: competition in four groups with four teams each, followed by playoffs where two top teams advance, then quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place match, and final (September 9, Paris, "Parc des Princes").
We add that the current Olympic champion in football among men's national teams is Brazil, which defeated Spain (2:1) in the final at Tokyo-2020. This time, it did not qualify, finishing third in South America.
