Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on January 6, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred eighty-second day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The enemy continues to ignore laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, carries out missile and air strikes, and shells both military and numerous civilian objects in our country with multiple rocket launchers.

During the past day, 62 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy inflicted five missile and twenty-five air strikes, carried out thirty-two shelling attacks from multiple rocket launcher systems on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Civilian housing and infrastructure were damaged.

During the night, Russian occupiers launched another air strike using two Shahed-136/131 drones. All enemy drones were destroyed.

Air strikes hit Novomikhailivka in Donetsk region, Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia region, Zmiyevka and Chervoniy Mayak in Kherson region.

Over a hundred populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of the Operational Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces «North» on the Volynian and Polesian fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Operational Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces «Khortytsia» on the Kupyansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attacks near the populated area of Synkivka in Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman front occupiers did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On the Bakhmut front our soldiers repelled three enemy attacks near Klyshchyivka and Andriyivka in Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of the Operational Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces «Tavria» on the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold off the enemy, who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense line, inflicting heavy losses on occupiers. Thus, during the past day, forces of defense repelled four attacks by the enemy in the areas of Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka as well as seventeen attacks near Perevalskiy and Nevelskiy in Donetsk region.

On the Mariupol front our defenders continue to hold off aggressors near Mariupol, Pobedy, and Novomikhailivka in Donetsk region, where fifteen attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk front the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On the Zaporizhzhia front Ukrainian soldiers repelled an attack by the enemy near Robotino in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of the Operational Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces «Odessa» on the Kherson front, forces of defense continue to take measures for expanding their foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to drive our units from occupied positions. In particular, during the past day, the enemy carried out thirteen unsuccessful assault operations.

At the same time, our soldiers continue active actions against occupying forces, inflicting casualties in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the past day, aviation of defensive forces carried out strikes on five areas of concentration of personnel and one command post of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage to two command posts, four areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, ammunition depots, and an artillery system of the enemy.
