To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on December 21, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred sixty-sixth day has begun of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine.

The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terrorism tactics, carries out missile and air strikes, shelling with multiple rocket launchers not only at military but also at numerous civilian objects in our country.

During the past day, 99 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out five missile and 68 air strikes, conducted 88 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed.

During the night, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine again, using 35 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. With air defense forces and means, 34 strike UAVs were destroyed.

Air strikes hit Synykhivka in Kharkiv region; Seriyevskoye forest district in Luhansk region; Ivanivske, Toretsk, Ocheretinove, Orlovka, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Novoukrayinka in Donetsk region; Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhya region; Krynytsia and Olhyvka in Kherson region.

Artillery fire hit nearly 100 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on Volynian and Polissian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On Severian and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy attacks near Synykhivka, east of Petrovole and Ivanivka where he attempted to break through our defenses.

On Lyman direction our defenders repelled 13 attacks by occupiers near Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and east of Terny, Sporny Donetsk region.

On Bakhmut direction our soldiers repelled seven enemy attacks near Bogdanivka, Klyshchyivka and Andriyivka in Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on aggressors. Defense forces repelled 14 attacks by the enemy near Novokalynovo, east of Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka as well as 22 attacks near Severnyy, Pervomaisky and Nevelsky Donetsk region.

On Mariupol direction defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in areas of Mariupol, Victory and Novomykhailivka Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 10 attacks.

On Shakhtarsk direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On Zaporizhzhya direction defense forces repelled six attacks by the enemy west of Verbove and south of Robotino in Zaporizhzhya region.

At the same time on Melitopol direction Ukrainian defense forces continue active actions inflicting losses on occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue efforts to expand their foothold. Despite failures, the enemy did not give up his intention to drive our units out of occupied positions and carried out more than 30 unsuccessful assault operations. He received a worthy rebuff and retreated with losses. Our defenders conduct counter-battery fire, inflicting artillery strikes on the rear of the enemy.

During the past day, air force of defense forces inflicted strikes on 16 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment as well as one anti-aircraft missile complex of the enemy. Also with means and resources of Ukraine's air defense, one guided missile Kh-59 was destroyed.

Units of rocket troops hit five areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, ammunition depot and six artillery systems of the enemy.
