In the final round of Group V3, Volodymyr Pyatenko's wards emerged stronger against Serbia (1:0). The emotions after the match were shared by half-backs of blue and yellow, scorer of the winning goal Viktoriya Hryhin, as well as forward Inna Hlushchenko.
"This victory was very important for all of us — for our team, for our country. I am very happy that I scored this crucial goal, it's my first one with the national team. We move forward,"— said Viktoriya Hryhin.
"All girls are great! Fought until the end, it was a tough game. A little bit of lack of realization, as there were many opportunities and we could have scored more, won with more confidence. But victory is victory. I hope now we will feel more confident. We will prepare. Looking forward to positive results."— noted Inna Hlushchenko.
We remind you that the Ukrainian team secured third place in the group and managed to outperform Slovenia in the ranking of third teams, avoiding a drop into League C for now. Now Volodymyr Pyatenko's wards are awaiting play-off matches which will take place in February 2024 (draw — December 11).
