To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on December 5, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and fiftieth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Over the past day, 73 combat engagements took place.

In total, the enemy carried out eight rocket and sixty-eight air strikes, conducted eighty-seven artillery attacks on our positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed.

Yesterday, Russian occupiers carried out an aerial strike against Ukraine using two X-59 guided missiles and twenty-two Shahed-136/131 combat drones. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down fourteen enemy drones and one X-59 missile.

Also at the beginning of today, Russian occupiers carried out another aerial strike against Ukraine using Shahed-136/131 combat drones. Details about the attack are being clarified.

Air strikes hit Petrovka, Ivanivka, Pyskanе Kharkiv Oblast; Novoyegorivka, Serebryanske forest Luhansk Oblast; Spiren, Viyimka, Klyshchivka, Andriyivka, Avdiivka, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandrivske, Novomikhaylivka, Urozhayeve, Staromajorske Donetsk Oblast; Novodaryivka and Kamianske Zaporizhia Oblast.

More than 100 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" «on Volynian and Polesian directions» the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" «on Kupyansk direction» Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 enemy attacks near Sinkyvka and Petrovka Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman direction soldiers of defense repelled eleven enemy attacks in the areas of Serebryanske forest, Bihorivka Luhansk Oblast and Terny Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut direction our soldiers repelled 11 enemy attacks near Bogdanivka, Klyshchivka and Andriyivka Donetsk Oblast. Forces of defense continue offensive actions south of Bakhmut, inflicting losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" «on Avdiyivka direction» Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Forces of defense successfully repelled 18 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and Severnoye Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol direction forces of defense continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Mariupol and Novomikhaylivka Donetsk Oblast where our defenders repelled 18 attacks.

On the Shakhtarsk direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction soldiers of defense repelled all attacks by the enemy who tried to regain lost positions near Robotino Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

At the same time, on the Melitopol direction, soldiers of defense continue active actions inflicting losses on occupation troops in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" «on Kherson direction» soldiers of defense continue to hold positions on the left bank of Dnipro, continuing counter-battery fire and artillery strikes against enemy rear areas.

Over the past day, aviation of forces of defense carried out ten strikes in areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, two — on air defense missile systems of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage to three areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, two — on air defense missile systems and seven — on artillery means of the enemy.
