Ukraine national team defender Oleksandr Karavaev participated in a press conference ahead of the Euro-2024 qualification match against Malta alongside head coach Serhiy Rebrov.
— What are your expectations for tomorrow's game? How is recovery going?
— Expectations are only positive — we understand what result we need. We focus solely on victory. We have everything needed for recovery, a very strong medical staff. All the guys are professionals. Everything is going according to plan.
— You've played in the national team under different coaches. And the second match during international windows always seems harder than the first one. Why does this happen? Tomorrow we play against an outsider, perhaps this will change things?
— Matches on day three after two days are always tough in all aspects — physically and mentally. But we are professionals, primarily, we need to draw conclusions from the previous match. We need to understand how difficult the game will be. We have to play at maximum capacity from start to finish, and everything will be fine.
Reminder, the Euro-2024 qualification match between Malta and Ukraine national teams will take place on October 17 in Ta' Qali (kick-off at 9:45 PM Kyiv time).
