Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 3, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The eighteenth day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

The forces of the Ukrainian defense continue to conduct defensive operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction. They are destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, consolidating their positions at the achieved lines.

During the past day, 35 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out eight missile strikes and 47 air raids, conducted 27 artillery attacks with multiple rocket launchers both on our military positions and civilian objects of our country. The Russian Federation also attacked Ukraine seven times using Shahed-136/131 strike drones from a southeast direction. Our anti-aircraft defense destroyed four enemy "Shaheds." As a result of the terrorist acts by Russia, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed.

Air raids were carried out in Stepok of Sumy Oblast; Kupiansk, Ivanivka, and Cherevchyne of Kharkiv Oblast; Zarychne, Spirene, Liman, Klitschiivka, Oleksandr-Shultyne, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskeviivka, Urozhayne, Staromajorske, Novodarivka of Donetsk Oblast; Mala Tokmachka of Zaporizhia Oblast; Mykolaivka of Kherson Oblast.

More than 100 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson oblasts were subjected to artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volyn and Polesie directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, and increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupiansky direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

On the Limansk direction forces of defense repelled attacks by the enemy in the vicinity of Makieivka, Luhansk Oblast.

On the Bakhmutsk direction the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions near Andriyivka, Donetsk Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivsky direction, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore lost positions in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast. In addition, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by the enemy east of Stepove, Donetsk Oblast. The enemy made 10 unsuccessful attacks in the areas of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsky direction, Ukrainian warriors successfully repelled enemy attacks near Staromajorske and Rivnopole, Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions west of Verbove and southeast of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

The forces of defense continue offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) actions on the Bakhmut direction. They are inflicting losses on occupation troops in manpower and equipment, consolidating at occupied lines, and exhausting the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, forces of defense conduct counter-battery battles, destroy supply depots, and inflict successful damage to the rear areas of the enemy.

During the past day, aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 11 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, as well as one strike against an air defense missile complex of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage to two areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, a command post, two radio-electronic battle stations, and four artillery systems of the enemy.

In total, the enemy lost 360 occupiers, 15 tanks, eight armored combat vehicles, 40 artillery systems, 20 tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 23 vehicles, and five units of special equipment.
