To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 1, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The eighteenth-fifth day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

Russian occupiers continue to ignore international humanitarian law, not only shelling Ukrainian positions but also civilian infrastructure in populated areas, terrorizing peaceful residents.

Forces of the Defense of Ukraine are continuing defensive operations on the east and south of Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, consolidating at achieved lines.

During the past day, 38 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy inflicted eight rocket attacks and 99 air strikes, carried out 45 shelling with multiple launch rocket systems both on our positions and civilian objects of our state. Also, the Russian Federation launched another attack on Ukraine, using nearly 40 Iranian Shahed-136/131 strike drones from a southern direction. With anti-aircraft means, 30 enemy "Shaheds" were destroyed within Odesa, Mykolaiv and Vinnytsia regions. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

Air strikes hit Halahanivka in Chernihiv region; Novoselivske, Nevske, Novolubivka, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Terny, Zarychne, Severnyi, Spirene, Vesele, Kostiantynivka, Klitshiivka, Andriyivka, New York, Avdiivka, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, Urozhayne, Staromajorske in Donetsk region; Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Novoandriyivka in Zaporizhzhia region; Mykolaivka in Kherson region.

More than 120 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volyn and Polesie directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Severnyi and Slobozhanskyi directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions in the Klitshiivka area of Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivka and Mariinka directions, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore lost positions near Avdiivka in Donetsk region and improve tactical situation around Novoselivka and east of Stepove. The enemy carried out over 10 unsuccessful attacks near Mariinka in Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarskyi direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore lost positions near Novodarivka in Zaporizhzhia region and improve tactical situation west of Verbove.

Forces of the Defense of Ukraine continue conducting offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) actions on the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on occupying forces, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odesa" on the Kherson direction, Forces of Defense are conducting counter-battery battles, destroying depots and successfully damaging rear areas of the enemy.

During the past day, aviation of the Armed Forces inflicted 17 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, eight strikes on air defense missile systems of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket forces hit six air defense missile systems, ten artillery units, three ammunition depots.

Estimated losses of the enemy during the past day amounted to: 440 occupiers, eleven tanks, seven armored combat vehicles, thirty artillery systems, two MLRS, one aircraft, thirty-seven drones of operational-tactical level, twenty-nine vehicles and units of special equipment.
