In March, the Ukraine national futsal team secured first place in Group 11 of the main round qualification for the 2024 Futsal World Cup and advanced to the elite round. According to the results of the draw, the blue-and-yellow team ended up in Group B, where their opponents will be Poland, Serbia, and Belgium.

It should be noted that after reviewing several potential home venues for Ukraine's national team, the AFS chose István Pálfi Arena in the Hungarian city of Berettyóújfalu. The arena itself can accommodate 1350 spectators and currently serves as the home ground for Hungary’s futsal club Mezei-Vill.

The head coach of Ukraine's national team, Oleksandr Kosyenko, called up 15 players for preparation before the elite round matches, including three debutants — Nazar Shved, Yevheniy Zhuk, and Vladyslav Zavertanyi.

The blue-and-yellow team prepared for official matches in Debrecen, Hungary. After that, the Ukrainians traveled to Belgium, where they will face the local national team today in the city of Roeselare (kick-off at 9 PM Kyiv time). We add that the matches of Ukraine's futsal national team in the elite round qualification for the 2024 Futsal World Cup will be exclusively broadcast by MEGOGO media service.

Futsal World Cup 2024. UEFA Qualification

Elite Round

Matches: 11—20 September, 2—11 October, 11—20 December 2023.

Twenty national teams are divided into five groups of four teams each. Matches will be played home and away. The five group winners will qualify for the Futsal World Cup. Four best second-place finishers will advance to the elite round playoffs. 

Elite Round Playoffs

Drawing: 25 January 2024.

Matches: 8—17 April 2024.

Four teams will be divided into two pairs. Matches will be played home and away. The winners of the pairs will qualify for the Futsal World Cup.

The World Championship will take place in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6, 2024.
