Ukraine national team defender Illia Zabarnyi participated in a press conference the day before the Euro-2024 qualification match against Italy alongside head coach Serhiy Rebrov.

— What are you expecting from your opponent in tomorrow's match?

— We know that Italy needs a win very much. But we need it as well. We will give our maximum, play for our country, fight for every chance. Let's see what happens.

— You had an excellent match against England, hope that with Italy it will be even better. How do you evaluate your level of play? What did you talk about with the fans of "Bournemouth" when they greeted you?

— Yes, there was a good match, we did well, gave our maximum. The mood after the game is good, preparing for Italy. As for the fans of "Bournemouth", they greeted me, wished success, said that they are waiting for a win.

— How do you evaluate the start of your season at "Bournemouth"? What did your teammates tell you? Does playing in the Premier League help with performances for Ukraine?

— All players from "Bournemouth" wished me success. Of course, they said there are no chances, but simply wished me success. As for playing in England, there were tough matches against good opponents. It's great that I started playing, getting into shape and gaining confidence. This is a plus for the national team. I think everyone who plays abroad understands what level it is, how intense everything is in every sense. So it would be nice to see more of our players representing their country overseas.

— What can you say to Ukrainian fans who will come to the match?

— I want to thank all the fans who came to the game against England. The atmosphere was incredible. It's a very emotional moment when you see the whole stadium in Ukrainian flags. Everyone knows what time it is now, it's important to support every Ukrainian. Of course, we will be waiting for the fans because they are our heart, we play for our Ukraine.
