President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about an extraordinary meeting with all heads and headmistresses of Ukrainian diplomatic institutions.

This was a long and very intense day.

In the morning, reports from our soldiers, from PPO regarding the downing of "drones." A total of 37 "drones" were shot down over one night. Some were intercepted successfully. But not all. Fortunately, no people were harmed. There are hits in southern regions — Odesa, our ports.

We are doing everything possible with partners to increase supplies of anti-aircraft defense systems. It is crucial that the world does not get used to this Russian terror. Every hit is a collective problem. Not just for Ukraine but also for everyone in the world whose stability Russia aims to destroy by bombing our ports and infrastructure.

Today, we talked about food security with our ambassadors — I held an extraordinary meeting with all heads and headmistresses of Ukrainian diplomatic institutions.

We gathered in Zakarpattia. Ahead of a new political season in partner countries. Already 16 months into the full-scale war, we have managed together — the entire diplomatic team of Ukraine, everyone working in our foreign policy field — to make the world see events as they truly are. As they happen, not how Russian propaganda wants them portrayed. Most countries in the world stand with Ukraine. We have achieved significant results in supplying weapons for our soldiers. There are powerful sanctions against Russia for terrorism. Now there are new tasks for Ukrainian diplomats — attracting defense production to Ukraine… Equipment, artillery, ammunition. Expanding training missions for our soldiers. Ensuring supply of F-16s. Long-range missiles for Ukraine.

And always — absolutely always — political decisions in favor of our state and freedom. Upcoming is the Crimea Platform, UN General Assembly, Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, Global Food Summit, very important Peace Formula summit to which we are inviting a global majority. Opening negotiations with the European Union on accession — this is the task for this year. Preparing more in relations with NATO — also a task that our diplomats need to carry out already. Today we talked about all of this in great detail.

Ukrainian diplomacy has a very clear and significant track record. In all spheres. We do not forget the sphere of national memory, our history either. This year — 90th anniversary of Holodomor, and we are constantly active in communication with partners to recognize historical truth — to recognize Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian people. Already 28 countries have recognized Holodomor as genocide — at the state level. In four more countries there is a decision by one chamber of national parliaments. And during full-scale war, 17 such decisions on recognition were adopted. Very high pace. All Ukrainian diplomats need to maintain exactly this pace — be just as active in the interests of Ukraine. Every day, every week, every month proving with concrete results for Ukraine that our diplomacy can and will become a global leader.

I held a meeting on security and social situation in Zakarpattia. Border issues — strategic for the region, reported General Deineko, head of State Border Service. A thorough report by Oblast Administration Head Mykyti — it feels that there are needed results in the region. Well done!

Relocation of business and creation of new jobs in various communities of the oblast. This is an important direction of work. Rehabilitation capabilities for our soldiers — right projects. Many initiatives regarding development of Zakarpattia's economy — those opportunities that were not utilized for decades. Here, in the region, already started developing salt deposits which can supply all of Ukraine with kitchen and technical salt. There are other projects about which we will talk to officials.

Undoubtedly, Zakarpattia will be one of the drivers of development for all of Ukraine, economic and social growth.

I conclude this day in Berehove with a meeting with representatives of Hungarian community in Ukraine. An important meeting. Educators, doctors, representatives of civic and religious organizations and certainly — our soldiers, whom I had the honor to award. Brave and valiant soldiers whom we are proud of — all of them. We are all Ukrainians, we are all citizens of Ukraine. All defend our state and freedom, all strive for victory for Ukraine, want to live in Ukraine and develop life here — for their families, for their children.
