Today in the capital of Azerbaijan, the wards of Mykola Kostenka and Oleksandr Korniychuk met Moldova's national team in a playoff match for qualification to the 2024 World Cup.

Already at the second minute Oleg Zborovskyy opened the scoring after a corner kick setup, but soon Leonid Podlesnov equalized. In the second twelve-minute period, Ukrainians went ahead again thanks to Alexander Poslavskyi's goal, however, Moldovans with Dumitru Graur's efforts once again established parity—2:2.

At the very beginning of the third period Andriy Pashko scored the third goal for our team, and just two minutes later Dmitro Voytenko—the fourth. And almost immediately Andriy Nershyk secured a three-goal advantage for the blue-and-yellow. Thus, 5:2—victory for Ukrainians.

Thus, Ukraine's national team will participate in the final stage of the 2024 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
