Euro 2023 (U-21). The Ukrainian youth national team is preparing for the semifinal against Spain and has moved to Bucharest

On July 2, the Ukraine U-21 national team achieved a historic success by defeating France (3:1) in the quarterfinal match of Euro 2023 (U-21) and securing a spot in the semifinals, thereby earning for our country the right to participate in the Olympic football tournament for the first time!

July 2, after defeating France (3:1) in the quarterfinal match of Euro-2023 (U-21) and securing a spot in the semifinals, Ukraine's youth national team achieved an historic success — they earned for our country the right to participate in the football tournament at the Olympics for the first time!

However, this is not the end of the current work of Ruslan Rotan's team. On July 5, they will play a semifinal match against Spain. The game will take place at the "Stadionul Steaua" in Bucharest (kickoff at 10 PM Kyiv time).

On Monday, after the festive events at "Cluj Arena," the head coach of our team gave his players a chance to catch their breath — the training session was recovery-based.

In the evening, the Ukrainian delegation will move from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest, to a familiar hotel "Caro," where they were based during the group stage matches.

Tomorrow, July 4, the team will hold a pre-match training session. There is little time for preparation before the semifinal match, but the opponent is already well studied: the dramatic game against Spain in the group stage (2:2) provided much information for consideration.

Regarding personnel issues, striker Bohdan Vyunnik is still troubled by a knee injury, but doctors are doing everything possible so that the coaching staff can count on him on Wednesday. Dmitro Kryskiv will not help the team as he misses the match due to yellow card accumulation. In his place returns forward Vladyslav Vanat, who served a two-match suspension.
