June 30, Poltava's "Vorskla" and Kryvyi Rih's "Kryvbass" will learn their opponents in the qualification stage of the Women's Champions League.

In the 2023/2024 season, for the first time in history, two teams will represent Ukraine in the Women's Champions League — Poltava's "Vorskla" (successor to "Zhitloubud-2"), which will start the tournament at the first stage of the Champions Path, and Kryvyi Rih's "Kryvbass," which will play in the first round of the Association Representatives Path.

On June 30 in Nyon, Switzerland, the draw for the first round will take place (announced by UEFA's official website — ceremony start at 14:00 Kyiv time).

The current format of the Women's Champions League is as follows.

Tournament System

The main stage consists of a group phase with sixteen clubs. Teams will be divided into four quartets, where they will play each other home and away from October to December.

Winners of the top two spots qualify for the quarter-finals. Quarter-final and semi-final matches will consist of two games each, while the final will be a single match held in Bilbao, Spain.

Four teams will receive direct entries to the group stage, while the remaining twelve places will be determined through qualification rounds within the Champions Path (seven spots) and the Association Representatives Path (five spots).

Qualification in both paths will follow a similar format. In the first round, teams will compete in mini-tournaments with winners advancing further. In the second round, teams will be paired off to play each other home and away.

Number of Clubs from Each Association

The list of participants is based on the UEFA women's club ranking at the end of the 2021/2022 season, where Ukraine ranked fifteenth.

Top six associations in the rankings — France, Germany, Spain, England, Sweden, and Czech Republic — will enter three teams each.

The next ten associations — Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Scotland, Belarus, Ukraine and Austria — will send two teams each (for the first time in history, Ukraine will be represented by two participants in European competitions).

Other associations will be represented by one team.

Stages from Which Teams Will Start the Tournament

The winner of the 2023 Champions League and champions of the top three associations (France, Germany, and Spain) will qualify directly to the group stage.

Champions from other associations will enter the Champions Path qualification. The champions of associations ranked fourth through sixth in the ranking (England, Sweden, and Czech Republic) will start from the second round, while others, including Poltava's «Vorskla» (to be drawn), will begin from the first.

The runners-up of the top six associations (France, Germany, Spain, England, Sweden, and Czech Republic) will start from the second round of the Association Representatives Path.

Teams finishing third in these six associations, as well as those finishing second in the next ten associations (Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Scotland, Belarus, Ukraine and Austria), will enter from the first round of the Association Representatives Path. Among them is also the seeded Kryvyi Rih's "Kryvbass."

All Russian clubs are excluded from participation in the Women's Champions League for the 2023/2024 season.
