President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about a rescue operation in Kryvyi Rih and the necessity to eliminate the foundations for terror, for the production by the state-terrorist country of new rockets.
"Dear Ukrainians,
Today marks the completion of rescue efforts and debris clearance in Kryvyi Rih following a terrorist rocket attack. Sadly, 11 people lost their lives, including one child... My condolences to all relatives and loved ones. Over 30 people were injured. They are receiving necessary assistance.
I want to thank everyone who participated in the rescue operation: DSNSS rescuers, doctors, police, volunteers, local authorities, ordinary citizens. Thank you for every life saved! Thank you for helping each person today.
This deliberate Russian strike on an ordinary city only further proves a simple truth: we must together with our partners ensure physical conditions that make Russian terror impossible.
First, this is our air shield. An adequate number of anti-aircraft systems of sufficient power. Plus modern destruction means. When Russia's ability to strike at our cities and villages will be physically limited by our air shield, only then will the state-terrorist understand that there is no alternative for all Ukrainians in peace and defeat for Russia.
Secondly, this is eliminating the foundations for terror, for the production of new rockets by the state-terrorist. Unfortunately, Russia still has the ability to obtain critical components for rocket production from companies in various countries around the world, including some partner countries. These components are then supplied to Russia through different channels. For example, one of the rockets that hit Kryvyi Rih today contains nearly 50 components - mostly microelectronics - made in other countries.
Today there was a meeting between representatives of our state and diplomats from relevant countries. The list of companies supplying Russia with murder components is known to all partners. This list exists. Understanding how Russian terrorists attempt to deceive the world also exists everywhere. And we are waiting for conclusions and swift actions that will stop Russian rocket terror.
Ukraine has imposed sanctions on all Russian companies producing rockets. Such comprehensive sanction restrictions must be in place globally against them as well. Every way of circumventing sanctions should be legally punished at the global level. Export control over critical components needs to be strengthened - maximally. If anyone acts as an intermediary or works with Russia so that terrorists can continue to blow up residential buildings and kill people, such entities - business or state - deserve a corresponding response from the world. A harsh response. All information about this is available to partners.
It is definitely cheaper - once and for all to cut off terrorist access to components for terror production than to constantly spend on new anti-rockets for air defense systems.
Today, a meeting took place regarding the preparation of an inevitable, legal, and just accountability for Russia's aggression. We are working through several scenarios for establishing a special tribunal on the crime of aggression. A crime that requires the highest Russian leadership to answer. A crime that has spawned all other war crimes. And such responsibility will definitely be there. Indeed, this is not an easy task. But Ukrainians have already accomplished so many difficult tasks that they will not only accomplish it but do so with satisfaction. The tribunal will take place.
Today I met with the Director General of the IAEA Grossi. We are working very actively to prevent any incidents at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. As long as there are occupiers there, the risk is for the entire world, and this is obvious. Only full deoccupation of the station and its return under Ukrainian control can guarantee safety. And we will do everything for that.
It's good that the IAEA proposes to send a group of experts to us in Ukraine to assess the consequences of Russia destroying the Kakhovka dam and other facilities at the Kakhovska HPP. The world must know all the details about what is happening and what crime against nature and people Russia has committed. I hope that IAEA experts will work on this soon.
And of course - our soldiers, our heroes. Thank you to everyone who is now in battle, defending and advancing our positions.
For example, the Bakhmut direction - this includes soldiers from the 80th Separate Assault Brigade... There are advances on various fronts. I thank you! Thank you for extraordinary bravery!
Units of OSUV "Tavria" - under extremely harsh conditions of battle, in conditions of air and artillery superiority by occupiers there is an advance forward! Thank you, soldiers! Thank you for every step and every meter of Ukrainian land that is being liberated from Russian evil. Marines of the 35th and 36th Separate Brigades, the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 128th Separate Mountain-Storm Brigade, paratroopers of our tough "Seventy-Nine", artillerymen of the 55th Separate Brigade "Zaporizhzhia Sich". Thank you to all of you! Thank you for your strength!
And I thank everyone in our society who understands that liberating our land from such occupiers requires difficult, heroic and intensive actions day by day, step by step giving the necessary power to our offensive actions!
Glory to Ukrainian heroes! Glory to all around the world who help!
Thank you today to the United States for another timely package of military support. Artillery, armored vehicles, ammunition for our "HIMARS". Thank you, America!
Glory to Ukraine!"
