Kyiv region — in the "Inclusive Football Sections" project

The classes are organized in Bila Tserkva at school № 19 (trainer — Vitaliy Merkushev). The regional coordinator for the project from the Kyiv Football Associations Union is Vladimir Maslov.

Vitaliy Merkushev notes: "We work with students aged 8–10. Our classes contribute to strengthening their health, correcting physical activity, fostering interest in sports, especially football. The children impress us with their progress and determination. We create an atmosphere of friendship, support, and trust during the game, which is so necessary in these difficult times."

According to the coach, students describe their mood regarding football classes as follows: "We want to compete on the football field. But we are one team."

Through this project within the UEFA Mass Football Charter, the Ukrainian Football Association aims:

— to improve the psychological and physical well-being of children through their involvement in physical activities and socialization;

— to change society's attitude towards people with disabilities;

— to provide access to inclusive sports activities;

— to unlock children's potential;

— to unite children and adults, regardless of physical or mental development characteristics.

Inclusive football sections, where children with special educational needs can enroll, have been opened in 21 communities across Ukraine. Thanks to the UAF, these sections are supplied with children's football uniforms, balls, and necessary sports equipment.
