In the second group of the Euro-2023 (U-19) main round, which is hosted by the Serbian city of Vrnjačka Banja, the blue-and-yellow team started with a confident victory over Montenegro (12:1). Now, however, Igor Mosyichov's wards faced Romanian counterparts.

The blue-and-yellow team had several chances at the start of the match, including a save by Tkachenko. On the 6th minute, Ribitsky opened the score with a fifth goal after a corner kick was played out. Shortly after Fedik's corner kick, Synytsenko scored from an aerial shot.

Romanians equalized on the 10th minute when Peter beat Dyachenko after a corner kick. However, before halftime, powerful shots by Synytsenko and Tyutyuray secured our team's comfortable lead — 4:1.

After halftime, Tkachenko scored the fifth goal for the blue-and-yellow team with a solo run in a counterattack. Romanians responded with a shot by Strugariu to the goalkeeper, and almost immediately after that, Malinovskiy scored following an opponent's mistake.

Later on, Tkachenko scored his third goal of the match. On the 34th minute, Chires and Belimov exchanged goals, with our team's goalkeeper scoring in empty nets from his own half. Before the end of the game, Romanians managed to score one more goal.

So, in the second game of the Euro-2023 (U-19) main round, Igor Mosyichov's wards secured a convincing victory — 7:3. Our boys will play their decisive match against Serbia on March 25 (kickoff at 8 PM Kyiv time). A draw would also secure the first place and qualification to the final tournament for Ukrainians.

The venue for the final tournament of Euro-2022/2023 Futsal among under-19 boys was determined to be Poreč (Croatia). In addition to hosts Croatia, seven national teams will participate from March 3rd to September 10th after the second qualification round ends on March 26. The format of the final tournament remains the same: eight participants will play in two groups of four teams each, with the top two advancing to the semifinals.

The inaugural European Championship among under-19 boys took place in Rijeka in 2019 and the second edition was held in Hain (Germany) in 2022 — both times (2019, 2022) Spain's team emerged as champions. The second championship was initially planned for 2021 but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ukrainian national team participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards secured third place in their group, and in 2022 they were stopped in the semifinals.
