Last Sunday, March 19, three final matches of the 18th round of the Ukrainian Premier League took place, which the UPL declared as a Memorial Round in honor of football community members who died in the war.
After exiting from the Europa League following their match against Feyenoord, Shakhtar focused on the league. Since after yesterday's victory over Veres, Dnipro-1 returned to first place in the table, Shakhtar had a game against Ruh in Lviv where they were deciding who would take the lead.
In the middle of the first half, Donetsk players Matviyenko and Kryskiw scored twice, which was enough for the win. Thus, Shakhtar regained their three-point advantage over Dnipro-1.
Among the orange-and-black team's players on the field were those called up by Ruslan Rotan for the March national team training camp: Trubin, Matviyenko (goal), Stepanskyi (substituted in the 80th minute), Bondarenko, Sudakov.
