President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about coordination meetings on defense, humanitarian demining and energy, as well as work on new sanctions against Russia.

"I wish you good health, dear Ukrainians!

A brief report on today's day.

Conducted important coordination meetings. The Prime Minister, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, our internationalists, and the internal political block of my office were present. We agreed on actions for the coming weeks.

In particular, the government approved and is proposing to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt changes to the state budget, more than half a trillion hryvnia - for defense, additionally. All funds will be directed towards financial support for our soldiers, supporting our national defense sector, on defensive equipment, including drones. We will do everything possible and impossible to strengthen our warriors.

We also discussed humanitarian demining today - what is literally life-critical. As of now, over 170 thousand square kilometers of our territory remain dangerous due to enemy mines and unexploded ordnance. A significant part of this territory - it's the land of our farmers, land that was cultivated. So we discussed how to activate this work - accelerate humanitarian demining, increase corresponding cooperation with partners.

And we talked about supporting our farmers. The second sowing season since the full-scale war has already begun. Last year, heroic efforts of our farmers and all workers in the agricultural sector allowed us to preserve Ukrainian agricultural production - Ukraine's global role as a guarantor of food security. And I thank everyone who contributed to this. Appropriate steps to support the industry are being worked on by the government.

We separately discussed the situation in energy - it is normalized. In fact, we ensure energy needs for Ukrainians across all free territory according to generation capabilities. And we have already started preparing for the next heating season - this concerns both resource accumulation and new protection of our energy facilities.

The coming weeks are planned to be quite active in terms of international communication. Both to strengthen our defense, and to strengthen Ukraine's positions in the fight for justice, that is, in the fight against Russian killers. We are preparing news.

We also work on adding new sanctions against Russia. In recent days, Canada made a significant step by expanding sanctions to import of Russian aluminum and steel. I thank Canada for this decision - for sending this signal to the international community.

We not only need to limit the terrorist state's ability to circumvent existing sanctions but also introduce new ones - so that Russia cannot adapt to global pressure. The less adaptable Russia is to sanctions, the sooner we can restore territorial integrity of our country and bring peace back to Ukraine.

And most importantly - our defenders. Only this is an actual guarantee of freedom for Ukraine, all of Europe and free world - our soldiers and global pressure on Russia.

As always, I was in touch with our commanders today, with intelligence.

Very harshly on the east - very painful. We need to destroy the enemy's military might - and we will destroy it. Bakhmutka and Mariinka, Avdiivka and Bakhmut, Vuhledar and Kamianka and all other places where our future is being decided now. Where our future is chosen for all Ukrainians.

I thank everyone who is in battle today! I thank everyone who defends positions and fights for Ukraine and their comrades-in-arms! I thank everyone who never lets down those nearby on the positions!

Today, I especially want to highlight soldiers of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade - for successful actions in the Bakhmut area. Thank you, boys!

Glory to all Ukrainian warriors!

Glory to our unbreakable and beautiful people!

Glory to Ukraine!»
