President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the brutal terrorist attacks by occupiers and the retribution that the Kremlin cannot stop.
"Ukrainians! Ukrainian women!
Today I want to support all our cities and communities that suffer brutal terrorist strikes day and night from the evil state.
Our Kherson region and city of Kherson, which the occupier is retaliating against for its loss. Our Zaporizhzhia. Our cities in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which Russia wants to simply burn down. Our Kharkiv region and city of Kharkiv. Just in Kharkiv alone and since the beginning of this year—less than two months—the enemy has already fired over forty rockets. Nikopol, Mariupol—our Dnipropetrovsk region. Our Sumy region. Our Chernihiv region.
Missiles and artillery, drones and mortars—the evil state uses various weapons. But with one goal. With the goal of destroying life and leaving nothing human behind.
Ruins, debris, craters from shells in the ground—this is Russia’s self-portrait that it paints where there is normal life without Russia.
Today Russian shelling claimed lives in Kherson of people who simply went to a store for groceries. Three Ukrainians died. My condolences to their loved ones...
In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian rocket hit an essential city facility. In border areas, the occupier shelled villages to scare and drive away people.
But Russia will not be there. It has become synonymous with terror and will become an example of defeat and just retribution for this terror. Retribution that the Kremlin cannot stop.
I thank today our OSUV "North" fighters for destroying a missile and a "suicide" terrorist. Fighters of our PPO in Chernihiv region, fighters of the 2nd Separate Regiment of National Guard in Sumy region—thank you, boys!
Thank you to all our fighters in the south who are destroying enemy supplies, logistics and positions! Every destroyed enemy position is lives saved.
OSUV "Khortytsia"... I especially highlight today the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Ivan Sirko, the 80th brigade—our paratroopers, the 5th Separate Assault Brigade... All of them together with other Ukrainian soldiers are defending Bakhmut. Thank you for your strength!
Thank you to the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Mazepa and the 81st Separate Airborne Brigade, which operate in Donbas. Well done, boys!
I thank everyone who helps our units! I thank each person who supports civilians in frontline and border areas! Thank you to all who convince the world that more resolve is needed now! Now, as we prepare our active actions against the occupier so that every shot at Ukrainians calls out responsibility for the state-terrorist.
And one more thing. There is a new sanctions step against individuals and legal entities associated with the state of destruction. The relevant decree has been published. This involves over 280 companies and 120 people who, through gaming business schemes, worked against Ukraine, siphoned off funds from our country and financed various Russian combinations.
The decision was prepared for some time, it is thoroughly researched and closes down schemes worth billions. And this will not be the last such decision.
Ukraine will defend itself everywhere. And with all civilized means.
Glory to every one who fights for our country now! Glory to everyone who helps! Eternal glory to those whose lives were taken by Russian terror!
Glory to Ukraine!"
