General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: operational information regarding the Russian invasion (as of 06:00 06.03.2023)

Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on March 6, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The three hundred and seventy-sixth day of Russia's large-scale invasion has begun.

The Russian Federation is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations along the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Shakhtarsk directions. Yesterday, our soldiers repelled more than 95 attacks by the enemy in these areas, including around Bilohorivka and Novoselivskiy of Luhansk Oblast and Zaliznyanske, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Orilhovka, Bakhmut, and Ivanivske of Donetsk Oblast.

The enemy continues to violate international humanitarian law, continuing to inflict strikes, conducting artillery shelling on civilian objects and buildings of the peaceful population, attempting to destroy critical infrastructure in our country.

According to updated data, during the past day, the enemy inflicted 31 air and eight missile strikes, carried out 72 attacks with multiple rocket launchers. The threat of Russia's further missile strikes remains highly probable across all of Ukraine's territory.

On the Volynsky, Polesky, Severny, and Slobozhansky directions, no formations of enemy offensive groupings were detected. During the day, occupiers shelled populated areas of Iskriskivshchyna and Volfine in Sumy Oblast and Budarki, Veterinarnoye, Vilkhuvatka, Strilecha, Krasne, Terneva, and Ogireve in Kharkiv Oblast with mortars and artillery.

On the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy carried out artillery shelling of areas around populated places Dvoriche, Grynykivka, Masutyvka, and Pishchane in Kharkiv Oblast; Kuzemivka, Bilohorivka, Novoselivskiy, Chervonopopivka, and Seredynske forestland of Luhansk Oblast and Terny, Spirene, and Rozdolyvka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to attempt storming the city of Bakhmut and surrounding populated places. He shelled Zaliznyanske, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Orilhovka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Bogdanivka, Chasyi Yar, Kurdyumivka, Klyshchyivka, Shirokobalka, Ozaryanivka, Druzhba, Hryhorivka, Mayor'sky, and New York in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiyivka and Shakhtarsk directions, occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards populated places Krasnogorivka, Kamianka, Severne, Pobedy, and Mariinka of Donetsk Oblast. Enemy shelling affected areas around more than 40 populated places, including Veseloye, Avdiyivka, Vodyane, Berdychi, Perevomaysk, Krasnogorivka, and Volhedar.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson directions, the enemy is defending, attempting to create conditions for transitioning into an offensive on certain sectors. Areas around more than 40 populated places were affected by fire, including Novosilka and Vremivka of Donetsk Oblast; Zaliznytsia, Hulyaypole, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhya, as well as Veseloye, Berislav, Chornobaivka, Antonivka in Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson. There are casualties among civilian population and damage to civil infrastructure.

To mislead Ukrainian defense forces, the enemy maneuvers by moving columns around populated places Nova Kakhovka (Kherson Oblast) — Armiansk (temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea). These actions cause dissatisfaction among personnel of Russian occupation troops. The main reason is the lack of sufficient fuel and even indications of the effectiveness of such maneuvers.

In the higher military command of the Russian Federation, a conflict is brewing due to significant losses and the absence of real achievements on the front lines. In February this year, Putin awarded the commander of the eastern military district Muradov the rank of lieutenant general for a report allegedly about "successes" of the 155th marine infantry brigade in the Volhedar direction. Now Shoigu demands that the general return his rank and take the city at any cost. According to available information, the leadership of the brigade and military personnel refuse to go into another futile offensive, which they are sent by incompetent leadership — storming well-fortified positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces without any support or preparation.

In Volnovakha city in Donetsk Oblast, occupiers have set up a repair base for damaged equipment on the premises of a local professional technical college. Students are forced to participate in repair work.

Ukrainian aviation inflicted 12 strikes on areas where occupiers were concentrated yesterday, while rocket and artillery units hit three command points, four concentration areas, and one position of enemy air defense systems.

Overall, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 650 Russian invaders in the past day, destroyed nine tanks, eleven armored combat vehicles, seven artillery systems, and two air defense systems. The enemy also lost fifteen tactical drones, eight vehicles, and two units of special equipment.

Support the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Together we will win!

Glory to Ukraine!
