President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the visit of President Joe Biden of the United States and talks with the Managing Director of the IMF.

"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians!

Today was a symbolic day. The 362nd day of full-scale war, and we in our free capital of our free country are receiving the visit of our powerful ally, President Joe Biden of the United States, and talking with him about the future of Ukraine, our relations, all of Europe and global democracy. This is an indicator of how resilient Ukraine is. And how important Ukraine is to the world.

The ninth anniversary of the darkest days of the Maidan, the beginning of Russian aggression against our state, when there was very little time before the occupation of our Crimea. And now, nine years after that, we are more confident than ever that justice will be restored.

The aggressor state, which has consistently gone to become a terrorist state, will answer for its crimes. It will answer thanks to the efforts of Ukraine and all our partners, of the entire free world, everyone who is now helping us defend our independence, freedom and international order. We will win in this historic confrontation.

When President Biden — then Vice President — addressed the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in December 2015, he emphasized something very important: it would not be an exaggeration to say that the hopes of all freedom-loving people around the world depend on us, Ukrainians, because so much depends on the success of our fragile experiment with democracy. It is crucial for our state, for all of Europe — free and at peace — and for the entire world where democracy is under threat.

Now we are absolutely confident that there is nothing that could shake our democracy. No element of Ukrainian life is fragile anymore or will ever be again. And our strength is a powerful contribution to the strength of all freedom-loving nations in the world.

It is precisely now and precisely in Ukraine that the fate of the global order based on rules, humanity, and predictability is being decided. And today President Biden and I talked about how we will do everything this year to achieve our shared victory in the war started by Russia.

Started nine years ago. Full-scale — from last February. We must do everything this year to put an end to Russian aggression, free our occupied territories and provide guarantees of secure safety for both our state and all European peoples who want to live freely and in peace.

Concrete steps are known for this. Our defense needs are known. What active actions are needed — the actions above all of our soldiers on the front line — are also well known to our partners. We just need resolve.

Today I saw such resolve in President Biden and the United States of America. And I want to thank Mr. President for his visit and talks — truly beneficial ones — which actually continued our conversation that we started in Washington during my December visit.

We are working on supplying long-range weapons and other types of arms not previously included in support packages. And I thank you for the latest package, which will definitely strengthen our boys at the front line.

I also want to thank all Americans — ordinary people and community leaders, members of Congress from both parties and everyone on President Biden's team — in the name of all Ukrainians for how our relations between Ukraine and America have reached an historically substantive level. We can be called true allies, and our alliance with America truly strengthens the world.

This week we will continue diplomatic work with representatives of the United States. There will also be important events in relations with other partners both in Europe and around the world.

A year of full-scale war, a year of our unbreakability, which was a response to the Kremlin's illusion of «three days to Kiev»... A year! And we are making a truly Ukrainian global week.

Today I held talks with the Managing Director of the IMF who arrived in Kyiv.

It was very pleasant for me to hear positive assessments of the stability of our institutions, effectiveness and efficiency of our country under such harsh and total aggression. There are situations where even in much simpler conditions states do not withstand. The Ukrainian state has endured terrible trials and preserved full functionality. This is another achievement of our people — all those who work for the state. An achievement that deserves to be marked right now — these days, on the eve of the anniversary of the invasion. Ukrainians are capable of great things, and every day we see new evidence of this.

I want to mark today — traditionally — our heroes at the front line. Those who demonstrate extraordinary bravery, incredible resilience and very necessary results for Ukraine in destroying the enemy every day.

Paratroopers of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. Infantrymen of the 72nd and 110th Separate Mechanized Brigades. Sub-units and support forces of these brigades. Artillery units of the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade. Thank you, boys, for your courage and accuracy in Donetsk!

Also — the 128th Separate Mountain-Storm Brigade and the 1st Artillery Battalion of the 44th Separate Artillery Brigade. Thank you, boys, for a worthy response to enemy attacks on our Zaporizhzhia!

The 66th and 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigades, the 81st Separate Airborne Brigade, the 95th Separate Assault Brigade. Thank you, boys, for not only inflicting heavy losses on the enemy in Luhansk but also giving us faith in our movement towards liberating our land.

Glory to all who fight for Ukraine!

Thank you to everyone who helps!

Bright memory to every one and every woman who gave their life for freedom in Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!»
