Igor Moskivych's wards played their first match at the Croatian tournament Umag Nations Cup 2023, against France.
After conceding early, the blue-and-yellow team managed to take the lead before halftime. Unfortunately, in the second half, the French made a comeback and scored three goals in succession—4:2. However, credit must be given to Ukraine's national team—they did not give up and managed to equalize near the end of the match. 4:4—considering how the game unfolded, this is not an unfavorable outcome.
Upcoming matches for the Ukrainians are against Slovenia (January 19, start at 16:00 Kyiv time) and Italy (January 20, start at 19:00).

Recall that on November 3, the draw for the preliminary and main rounds of Euro-2023 (U-19) futsal qualification took place. According to its results, Ukraine's youth team was placed in Group 2 of the main round, where they will face Romania, Serbia, and the winner of Group V from the preliminary round (Montenegro, San Marino, Gibraltar). The mini-tournament will be hosted by Serbia.
The final tournament for Euro-2022/2023 futsal among under-19 boys was held in Poreč (Croatia). In addition to the hosts, Croatia, seven other teams will participate, which will be determined after the second qualification round, scheduled to conclude by March 26. The format of the final tournament remains the same: eight participants will play in two groups of four teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals.
The inaugural European Championship for futsal among youth was held in Rijeka in 2019; the second edition took place in Hain in 2022—both times (2019, 2022) Spain's team emerged as champion. The second championship was initially planned for 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ukraine's national team participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards secured third place in their group, and in 2022 they were eliminated in the semifinals.
