President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression, Ukraine and the United States have reached a level of alliance filled with real substance.

The Head of State made this statement during a joint briefing with US President Joe Biden following their meeting in Washington. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that his current visit to the United States is historic for bilateral relations.

"Over 300 days into this war, we have begun a truly new stage in our interactions — between Ukraine and the United States. We have reached a level of real alliance that is one hundred percent filled with real substance. I felt this today at all my meetings and discussions. I would like to thank President Biden once again for his sincere support and — which is very important — understanding of Ukraine. And also for building and supporting an international coalition to strengthen the international legal order," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

He also thanked the American leader for personal efforts and wise steps that unite the world community around the defense of international law, peaceful cooperation, and mutual understanding, which is beneficial not only for Ukraine and the United States but for all countries in the world.

"I know that US leadership will remain strong and globally felt. The United States will stand up for our shared values, values of freedom. And I believe that despite any personal changes in Congress, bipartisan support will be maintained. Thank you to everyone who works for this," said the Head of State.

Volodymyr Zelensky informed that today at all meetings questions about countering Russian terror and restoring Ukraine's destroyed infrastructure, especially energy, were raised.

"We need to get through this winter. We need to protect our people. We must be as specific as possible in these matters — this is a key humanitarian issue for us now. This is an issue of survival," he emphasized.

Also, according to the president, during the meeting further sanctions and legal pressure on the state-sponsor of terrorism were discussed.

"Russia must answer for everything it does against our country, against our people, against all of Europe and the free world," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

He also noted the importance of US leadership in implementing Ukraine's peace formula.

"We are proposing very specific points and what America can do to help implement them. We propose a Global Peace Formula Summit, and I am grateful to our American allies for hearing us and feeling as we do about how important it is to maintain the initiative and seek ways to restore Ukraine's territorial integrity and international order," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

On his part, US President noted that Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Washington at this time is important for the American people and the entire world to hear about the help and support needed by Ukraine in 2023.

"300 days of unprovoked, unjust large-scale attacks on the Ukrainian people. 300 days when the Ukrainian people show Russia and the whole world resilience and invincibility in fighting for their country. I say to all people, to the entire Ukrainian nation: you have demonstrated your resolve and certainty against imperial appetites of a country that thought it could conquer you, but failed. You have stood up and are continuing to fight," said Joe Biden.

He noted that since Russia's invasion, the US and other countries have supported Ukraine through sanctions and assistance, including humanitarian, military, and financial aid. The US President assured that this support will continue.

Among other things, Joe Biden emphasized that the United States and allies recognize the importance of helping Ukraine rebuild its energy infrastructure damaged by Russia's attacks.

"Russia is using winter as a weapon. This is an example of the crimes it commits against the Ukrainian civilian population," said the US President.

He assured Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian people that Americans will be there for however long they need to be.

"What you are doing, what you have achieved is important not only for Ukraine but also for the entire world. Together we will continue to support the fire of democracy, and this light will overcome darkness," concluded Joe Biden.
